Study In New Zealand
Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions Bangladeshi students ask us most often.

Yes, completely. We do not charge any file processing fee, service fee, or application fee. Our consultancy — from first meeting to final visa submission — is free for all students. Our income comes from university partnerships. There are no hidden charges at any stage.

Enroll in an eligible IELTS preparation course at Meiji Education (Dhaka or Cumilla branch), complete your IELTS and achieve your target score, then apply for your NZ student visa through Meiji. Once your visa is approved, we refund 100% of your IELTS course fee within 14 working days. Speak to a counsellor for full eligibility criteria.

For Diploma programs: IELTS 5.5 with no band below 5.0. For Bachelor’s: IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5. For Master’s and PhD: IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0. Medicine and Law require IELTS 7.0 or above. Even with a conditional university offer, Immigration NZ requires a valid test score before visa approval.

Yes. A study gap does not automatically disqualify you. What matters is how the gap is explained. Your SOP and Genuine Student statement must clearly account for the gap — through work experience, business activity, family circumstances, or other documented reasons. Meiji Education writes and reviews SOPs regularly and knows how to present a gap effectively.

INZ requires NZD 20,000/year for living expenses plus full tuition fees. For most single Bangladeshi students, this means showing approximately BDT 60–70 lakh in liquid assets maintained for at least 6 months. With a spouse: BDT 80–90 lakh. Avoid sudden large deposits — INZ flags sharp spikes and can refuse the visa even if the total amount is sufficient.

From November 2025, international students can work up to 25 hours/week during term and full-time during semester breaks. The minimum wage is NZD 23.95/hour as of 2026. Working part-time at 25 hours/week, a student can earn NZD 22,000–28,000 annually — covering most or all typical living expenses. PhD students have unlimited work hours.

Eligible graduates can apply for a Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV) with open work rights — any employer, any role — for up to three years after graduation. This is a genuine stepping stone toward skilled migration and Permanent Residency through NZ’s Skilled Migrant Category.

NZ has two main annual intakes: February (start of academic year) and July (mid-year). Some programs offer October/November starts. For July 2026, applications should be submitted by late April 2026. For February 2027, begin by September 2026. We recommend starting 12–18 months before your target intake if you haven’t taken IELTS, and 6–8 months minimum if your test is done.
